Authentic sushi is made from short grain rice. When cooked the rice becomes slightly sticky and retains moisture to allow for easy shaping. The texture is soft yet firm to complement the other ingredients in sushi. SunRice Sushi rice is also ideal for other Japanese and Korean dishes.Ingredients

Usage Instructions
Rice Cooker 1. Rinse rice with cold water 2. Place 1 cup of rice in a rice cooker bowl 3. Add 1 1/2 cups of water 4. Start cooking in the rice cooker. When rice cooker switches to 'keep warm" (approx 15 minutes) remove bowl and let stand for 10 minutes to allow the rice to cool. 5. Place rice in a glass or wooden bowl and gradually mix in 1/2 cup of rice vinegar, 2 tbsp of caster sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt using a wooden spoon. 6. Fan rice to cool prior to making your favourite sushi dish. Absorption 1. Rinse rice with cold water 2. Place 1 cup of rice in a saucepan 3. Add 1 1/2 cups of water and bring to the boil 4. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 15 minutes 5. Remove and stand covered for 5 minutes 6. Place rice in a glass or wooden bowl and gradually mix in 1/2 cup of rice vinegar, 2 tbsp of caster sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt using a wooden spoon. 7. Fan rice to cool prior to making your favourite sushi dish. Gentle boil 1. Rinse rice with cold water ). 2. Place 1 cup of rice in a saucepan 3. Add 8 cups of cold water. Bring to the boil and stir occassionally . 4. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 15 minutes 5. Remove from heat, drain well and serve 6. Place rice in a glass or wooden bowl and gradually mix in 1/2 cup of ricei vinegar, 2 tbsp of caster sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt using a wooden spoon. 7. Fan rice to cool prior to making your favourite sushi dish. 1 cup of uncooked rice = approximately 3 cups of cooked rice. For softer rice add more water.
Storage Instructions
Store in a cool dry place out of sunlight, ideally in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
